Are EnduraFlood Boards Made From Sheetrock?
No, our patent-pending flood-proof drywall system isn't made from sheetrock. That's because the sheetrock used when building houses actually contains gypsum that allows mold to form when wet. In addition to being made from 100% waterproof and inorganic components, our drywall systems are designed to be opened. That means you can get a look inside your walls when you want to dry out the wall cavity or swap out wet insulation.
Can EnduraFlood Boards Be Safely Power Washed?
Yes, our waterproof drywall boards can be power washed, even though it will in most situations not be necessary. Unlike traditional drywall, EnduraFlood boards are designed to withstand moisture. We recently shared a video showcasing our drywall's ability to withstand treatment from a 4200-PSI power washer compared to traditional sheetrock to show you the difference. Please keep in mind that like any other product that is power washed, damage caused by the power washer is not covered under warranty.

All of EnduraFlood's panels, trim, and fasteners are designed to be quickly and easily removed by a homeowner with some basic tools. Your home's wood frame will also have an opportunity to fully dry out with help from a basic fan and humidifier. This is why so many homeowners using EnduraFlood are able to restore a room in just 24 hours! EnduraFlood panels aren't replaced. Simply reinstall them to go on living your life!

Can EnduraFlood Boards Be Painted? What Type of Paint Is Best?

If you'd like to paint your boards, use a roller with a 3/8-inch nap to apply it. Any type of interior paint will work. However, using high-end paint is advised for best results.

Yes, EnduraFlood can be used with plaster walls. Depending on the thickness of your walls, you may need to use shims. Many customers with irregular or older walls start by ordering sample kits that allow them to see how wainscoting could help to create a seamless transition.
Can EnduraFlood Be Installed on Concrete Walls?
Yes, EnduraFlood is designed for both main portions of homes and basements. Our wall system has been designed to be installed easily over concrete to help prevent water damage and mold growth in basements. In these cases, simply mount the system to the existing furring strips.

Should There Be a Gap Between EnduraFlood Boards and the Floor?
Yes, we recommend that panels start 3 inches from the floor. This gap is crucial because water often trickles in through foundational cracks to form puddles. A small gap makes it possible to inspect for puddles or signs of moisture without the need to remove panels. You can instead move your EnduraFlood baseboard molding to seek out moisture using a flashlight or simple moisture meter.
Should EnduraFlood Cover the Whole Wall?
No, EnduraFlood is only intended to cover "below the chair rail" in a room. This saves you from the task of having to cut out drywall to the water line when water pools in your home.

Can I Install EnduraFlood Panels Over Metal Studs?
Yes, our drywall can be installed on metal studs. Our kits have special rivets for mounting trim pieces to studs.
